Cargolândia Portugal delivers a broad spectrum of services, including project cargo, sea, air, road, and rail freight – making it a perfect match with Manuport Logistics. This acquisition is part of Manuport Logistics' global development strategy, consisting of the expansion of our worldwide and southern Europe office network with our own MPL differentiators (i.e., our specialized and enthusiastic staff), to allow us to serve our international customers even better.'

“The key motivation behind entering this partnership is that we share the same vision and mentality as the MPL family,” explains Pedro Ferreira, Managing Director at Cargolândia.
The integration and further expansion of Manuport Logistics Portugal will be a joint effort by the local team and the headquarters in Antwerp. The local management will remain on board and become a minority shareholder.

MPL and Belgian Sugar Exports Accelerate as Harvest Yields Strong Results
With the start of the sugar campaign just behind us, Belgian sugar exports are gaining momentum. During the previous sugar season, Belgian freight forwarder Manuport Logistics (MPL) transported 28,599 containers, representing 719,000 tons of sugar. The forwarder plays a key role in Belgian sugar exports, which remained stable at 112 kilotons in July 2025 but were 43 percent lower than a year earlier. Expectations are higher for the current season, partly due to favorable weather conditions and rapid initial growth of the beets.
